Lois Darlene Buzzard, 87, of Mt. Auburn passed away at 2:30pm Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Taylorville Care Center.  She was born July 24, 1924 in Butler County, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor Lacey Truitt.  On August 5, 1940, she married Carl E. Buzzard in St. Charles, MO. and he preceded her in death.  Mrs. Buzzard was a member of the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church, and was a former 4-h leader and a teacher's aide at Mt. Auburn Grade School.

She is survived by her son Terry Buzzard and wife Judy of Mt. Auburn; daughter, Cheryl Butcher and husband Gary of Mt. Auburn; daughter-in-lae, Connie Buzzard of Blue Mound; and 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.  Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary Buzzard, daughter and son-in-law, Janet and David Greene, twin sons, Charles and Dale Buzzard in infancy, grandson, Todd Buzzard; brother, Victor Truitt and sister, Mildred "Mic" Holtfreter.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, April 1, 2012 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Ellen Moma officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2-4pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, April 2, 2012 at Beecher City Cemetery, Beecher City, Il.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Auburn Fire Department or the Mt. Auburn Community Club.
