Jeff Davis, 48, of Taylorville, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11:32am at his residence. He was born June 5, 1963 in Dekalb, IL, the son of Larry LaVaughn and Cristine Ann Davis. On July 9,1994 he married Wendy Lynette Eggiman at Midland United Methodist Church in Kincaid. Jeff was a Machinist for Norfolk Southern Railroad. And was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. When he wasn’t at work playing practical jokes on his coworkers, he loved fishing, camping, watching hunting and fishing shows, psending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by wife Wendy Lynette Davis; step-mom: Carolyn Handshy of Mattoon; sons: Jeremy Davis of South Beloit, IL, Mathew Davis of Rockford, IL.; Daughters: Katrin Davis of Beloit, WI, Kristie Davis of Taylorville; mother-in-law: Carolyn Eggiman of Pawnee; Grandchildren: MaLayna Mae, Hayden, Chevelle, Dakota, Drake, Tyler, Nicholas, and Joseph; brother: Michael Davis of Neosho, MO; step-brother: David Dillow of Pawnee; sister: Lavonne (Martin_ White of Pawnee; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 19,2012 from 5-8pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 20,2012 at 10am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Steve Switzer officiation. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee, IL.
