Johnny H. Tarrant Sr., 89, of Taylorville, passed away on November 8, 2013 at 9:50 p.m. at the Taylorville Care Center. He was born January 26, 1924 in Taylorville IL; the son of Ralph Clifford and Lora (Huddleston) Tarrant. He married Josephine Emerson on April 11, 1943 in Taylorville, IL. She preceded him in passing on November 26, 2000. He was a retired cutter from Georgia Pacific. He is survived by his daughters, Lula Goins of Taylorville, Lora (Duane) Cook of Indianapolis, IN, Ronda (Mark) Cutler of Moweaqua, IL and Rita Thomas of Fargo, ND; son, Johnny (Diana) Tarrant Jr. of Sevierville, TN; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Thompson of Taylorville and Barb (William) Smitty of New Albany, IN; brothers, Dean (Nancy) Tarrant of MO and Larry (Wanda) Neidish of FL; sister-in-law, Shirley Tarrant of Taylorville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his parents, wife, Josephine; two brothers and two brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Burial will be at Fraley Cemetery in Taylorville with Johnny Tarrant Jr. officiating.
