David Eugene Bishop, 70, of Springfield, IL, passed away September 5, 2011 at 7:43 pm at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.  He was born February 10, 1941 in  Taylorville, IL, the son of Ritzman and Melba (Jones) Bishop.  He was employed by the State of Illinois School of Medicine. He retired in 2006. He has 15 years of education.  He is a member of the Heartland Community Church, Springfield, IL.

He is survived by sisters, Rhea Sue (Bob) Powell of Stonington, IL; Barbara Ann (Ron) Moomey of Owaneco, IL and Linda Lou (Roger) Schroyer of Taylorville, IL, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services will be a Private Family Graveside Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetary, Taylorville,IL with Pastor Anthony Thieman officiating.  Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetary, Taylorville, IL.  Sign on-line guestbook @ www.suttonmemorialhome.com
