Blake R. West, 29, of Taylorville passed away March 23, 2012 at 10:10am at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  He was born September 1, 1982 in Springfield, the son of Howard and Brenda Poteet.  He married Amanda Polcon in November, 2008 in Kincaid.  He was a farmer, a member of the National Rifle Association and the Illinois Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; mother, Brenda West of Taylorville; brother, Brent (Bri-Anne) West of Taylorville; mother and father-in-law, Tyrone and Susan Polcon of Palmer; grandma, Donna Polcon of Palmer and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Homer and Irene (Shorty) West, Hollis and Louise Poteet and niece Amelia Polcon.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10am at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Bert Eickhoff officiating.  Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 3-8pm at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
