Douglas Kohl, 63 of Taylorville passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at his home.  He was born on September 25, 1951 in Taylorville; the son of Orville and Mildred (Bartling) Kohl.  He married Mary Royer on December 21, 1974 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville, IL. He was a farmer for 28 years and then worked for IDOT for 8 years. Doug was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville, Taylorville Fire Protection District and VFW Post #4495.
He is survived by his Wife, Mary; Sons, O.J. (Julie) Kohl  and Doc (Katie) Kohl both of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren, Jarrett, Caroline, and Josie Kohl all of Taylorville; Sister, Carolyn Busby of Peoria, IL; Mother-in-Law, Maxine Royer of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandson, John Alan Kohl; Sisters Marcia Litz and Bette Tumiati; Brother, Norman Kohl.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery, Edinburg, IL with graveside military honors.
