Juanita A. Perry of Edinburg

Juanita A. Perry, 85 of Edinburg passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:50 pm in Regency Nursing Care Residence, Springfield, IL. She was born December 6, 1927 in Rochester, IL the daughter of Luther and Pearl Smith Kelley. She married Gordon E. Perry on February 20, 1947 in Taylorville, IL. She served as Clerk and later as Postmaster at the Edinburg Postmaster at the Edinburg Post Office, retiring in 1989 after 25 years of service. Juanita was an active member of the Edinburg Christian Church for many years serving in a variety of capacities; and she later became a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was also a Charter Member of the Edinburg Lioness Club. She was also actively involved in her community. She participated in the Christian County Red Cross, coordinating local blood drives. She also served on the board of the Christian County Senior Citizen's Center in Taylorville, as well as representing Christian County on the advisory board of the Area Agency on Aging for Lincoln Land.

She is survived by her husband Gordon, Daughter Deb (Gary) Philo of Springfield, IL, Grandchildren Kyle (Fiancee Britney Hicks) Lasswell of Edinburg, IL, Great-Grandchildren London, Kyle Jr., Roman, Corey, and Cameron, Brother, Gene Kelley of Springfield, IL, Sister-In-Law Barb Payne and Brenda Stimac of Edingburg, IL Brothers-In-Law Tom Warren of Edinburg, IL and Billy (Jerry) Perry of New Jersey, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by Parents, sister Margaret Ann Jelley and Brother Maurice Kelley.

Visitation will b e Thursday January 3, 2013 from 10:00-12:00 Noon at Bethel Baptist Church, Taylorville, IL. Funeral Services will be Thursday January 3, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Bethel Baptist church, Taylorville, IL with Honorable Judge Ron Spears Officiating. Burial will be a private family burial at Camp Butler national Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
