Elsie Powell, 100, of Taylorville, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:06 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center, Taylorville. She was born May 3, 1913 in Taylorville, IL. The Daughter of Abel and Nellie Derringer Maquet. She married Llewellyn Powell on December 20, 1934 in Taylorville, IL and he later preceded her in death on June 22, 2003. She was a retired homemaker. 

She is survived by her Daughter:Norma Hauser of Colona, IL; Son: Robert (Sue) Powell of Stonington, IL; Grandchildren: Cindy (Presley) Stanley, Cathy Russell, Chuck (Sheryl) Hauser, Lori (Barry) Hitchcock, Randy (Sally) Powell, David Powell, Erica (Grant) Venema, Penny (Donald) King, Gary (Chrissy Lerch) Powell, Terri (Randy) Rodden; Twenty-Two Great grandchildren; Five Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister: Dorothy Mathon of Granite City, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews . She was preceded by her Parents, Husband, Son: Donald Powell, Sister: Rose Schroyer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington, IL. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
