Betty J. Wingo, 67, of Taylorville, passed away February 19, 2013 at 12:42 a.m. at the Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. She was born on December 27, 1948 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Raymond Koonce and Josephine (Shanks) Koonce. She married James Wingo on March 11, 1965. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1974. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed doll collecting, creating photo albums, and Cook books.

She is survived by her sons, Ritch (Efe) Wingo, and Jeff Wingo of GA; daughter: Sherri (Jeff) Wingo-Durbin; grandchildren, Dani Wingo of Charleston, IL, Anthany Wingo of Charleston, IL, Grant Wingo of Mahomet, IL, Jack Wingo of Mahomet, IL, Devin Durbin of Taylorville, IL, Kyle Nation of Taylorville, IL, Alexis Nation of Taylorville, IL, and Chance Damery of Taylorville, IL ; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Sutton Memorial Home.
