Michael Joseph Smith, 45, of Taylorville, passed away April 3, 2013 at 6:50 a.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born May 25, 1967 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. The Son of Joe and Jan Cochran Smith. He graduated from SIUC, University of Illinois School of Medicine, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL

He is survived by his Parents: Joe and Jan Smith of Taylorville, IL; by Brothers: Peter (Charlotte) Smith of Bowling Green; KY; Matt (Collette) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; Joe (Kirstyn) Smith of O’Fallon, IL; Sisters: Mary Elizabeth Smith of Scottsdale, AZ; Katie (Trevor) Sample of Edinburg, IL; Margaret (Alan) Southard of Grosse Pointe, MI; Aunts: Teresa (Don) King of Huntley, IL; Beverly (Ed) Millwood of Castalian Springs, TN.; Uncles: Dr. Edward Smith of Peoria, IL; Gary Cochran of Phoenix, AZ.; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Father Mariadas Catla and Rev. David Beerbowerofficiating. Burial will be in Frailey Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10:00-11:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville.
