Gary R. Babbs, 69, of Taylorville, passed away on June 22, 2013 at 5:42 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. He was born on November 14, 1943 in Taylorville, IL. the son of Raymond and Bernedine (Martin) Babbs. He married Anna Hooper on February 15, 1964 at the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorville, former member of the Illinois Beef Association and the Illinois Farm Bureau. He was also an avid Illini and Cardinals sports fan and enjoyed helping his kids and grandkids raise and show cattle.

He is survived by his Wife: Anna; Sons: Jeff (Stacy) Babbs of Taylorville, IL; Kevin (Lisa) Babbs of Salem, IL; Daughter: Kris (Skip) Fountain of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Jennifer Babbs and Fiancé Brian Down of Herscher, IL; Tyler Babbs of Sleepy Hollow, NY.; Step-Grandchildren: Becca, Andrew, and Rachel Livingston of Taylorville, IL; Brother: Dave (Marylee) Babbs of Taylorville, IL; Sister: Sandy (Mike) Myers of Taylorville, IL; Brother-in-Law: Garry (Hollie) Hooper of Benbrook, TX. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 Noon on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Sutton Memorial Home.
