Doris J. Yonker 86, of Taylorville, IL passed away at 11:53 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Stonington, IL, the daughter of Frank and Lola (Wright) Davis. She married Charles “Bob” Yonker on December 17, 1945 in Kokomo, IN. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2004. Mrs. Yonker was a retired bookkeeper from Horace Mann and other local businesses. She was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church and Christian County Quilters Guild. She was a quilter and a golfer after retirement and loved roses and focused on her family. Survived by son, Joseph E. (Vicki) Yonker of Edinburg, IL; daughter, Sheila Kaye of Morrisonville, IL; grandchildren: Stephanie Funderburk of Morrisonville, IL Jennifer Yonker of Edinburg, IL and Ami Bowen of St. Petersburg, FL; two great grandchildren: Carley and Tessa Funderburk; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: LeRoy and Robert Davis; grandson, Phillip Smith, and granddaughter, Kimberly Smith. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. Burial will be at Edinburg cemetery.
