Anna M. Mazurier of Coalton

Mrs. Anna M. Mazurier formerly of Coalton, Illinois passed away on November 11, 2014, at 5:45 p.m., at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Illinois, with her family and close friends by her side.  For the past two years Anna resided at Eden Village Assisted Living in Glen Carbon, Illinois.  Anna was born on February 17, 1919, in Nokomis, Illinois, to John and Nora Taylor.  Anna attended the old Coalton school.  She married Tony A. Mazurier, and they made their lifelong home in Coalton.  Anna was a homemaker, seamstress and dearly loved “Little Grandma” to two grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.  Although slight in size she possessed an “I can do it” attitude toward anything that came her way.  She loved to garden and being outdoors, she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at the Nokomis Nursing Center for many years.   Anna was renowned for her “Gaufe” cookies which she loved making for family and friends during the holidays, this brought her great pleasure.   Anna was preceded in death by her parents John and Nora Taylor, her 2 brothers,  Johnny and Carl, sisters Gracie and DeeDee.  Anna is survived by her only son, Tony Mazurier Jr. and his wife Charlene, her grandson Mark Mazurier and wife Becky, her granddaughter Tammy Dickson and husband Davis, a niece Erma Jean and her husband Roy, her special friends Ruth Ann and Linda whom she adored, and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Funeral Home, Nokomis with Father Dan Willenborg officiating . Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Nokomis. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Meals on Wheels or the ASPCA.
