Robert L. Kearney, 70, of Taylorville, IL died at 9:40 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1944 in Taylorville, IL the son of Robert K. and Blanche Leone Shanks Kearney. On August 11, 1967 he married Rosemary Moody at the First Baptist Church in Taylorville. Bob graduated from Taylorville High School in 1963 and worked as a tire builder at Firestone in Decatur for 32 years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and loved his Cubs. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Viet Nam era and was a life member of the Stonington American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Kearney of Taylorville; Sons: Shawn Kearney and wife Tammy of Altamont, Robert Kobe and wife Lisa of Champaign, Keith Kearney and wife Michelle of Kincaid and Matthew Kearney and wife Barbara of Taylorville. Grandchildren: Ashley Tappendorph, Casey Kearney, Tanner Williams, Austin Williams, Justin Kobe, Kaylene Girrardi, Ace Kobe, Jessica Kearney, Austin Lee Kearney, Logan Kearney and Brandon Kearney. Great Grandchildren: Karsen Beard, Kirklyn Girrardi, Kaisyn Kobe and one of the way. He is also survived by his best friend Larry Williams. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Joseph Sedlack.

The family will hold private family graveside services at a later date.
