Charles Arthur Patton, 87, of Taylorville, passed away on March 4, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. He was born on December 18, 1926 in Liberty Center, OH; the son Homer Edward and Bertha Dell (Stockard) Patton. He married Norma Mills on August 24, 1949 in Taylorville and they were later divorced. He was a member and a carpenter with Local #16 retiring in 1988. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Patton loved to play pool.

He is survived by his son, Terry (Paula) Patton of Taylorville, IL; daughters: Linda Canale and Kathy (Jim) Pitchford both of Taylorville, IL; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his parents, four brothers: John D. Patton, Lawrence Patton, Bernard Patton and Homer Patton; sister, Mary Ellen Thrane.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Billie Sue Landers officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL
