Kathryn Marie (Griffiths) Matta, 92, of Taylorville, passed away on March 2, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on August 3, 1921 in Prairieton Twp., IL; the daughter of Eugene Farnsworth and Ida Marie (Dotson) Griffiths. She married Cleo Brower and later they divorced. She married Dominic P. Matta on May 10, 1958 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in passing on November 19, 1992. She was a retired LPN and a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville.

She is survived by her son, Edward (Benita) Brower of Rose Hill, KS; daughter, Marjorie (David) Adams of Minnetrista, MN; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Willa Mae)Griffiths of Idaho; sister-in-law, Helen Griffiths of Taylorville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, Dominic and brother Lyle Griffiths.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville . Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
