Leon Tryon of Morrisonville

Murl L. “Leon” Tryon, 62, of Morrisonville, died at 9:34 am Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 3, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Murl and Faye Sagle Tryon. On July 8, 1972 he married Linda Blount in Morrisonville, IL. This union was blessed with one daughter, Kari.  Leon’s pride and joy were his Grandkids Noah, Lucas and Kassie.  They put a spark in him every day and he was the best “Papa” of all times.  Leon was a farmer all his life; it was at the core of him.  He loved farming and talking about it with anyone.  Leon most enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and going places with friends, supporting all Church activities and traveling around the United States.  If Leon came across someone in need, he gave.  He gave when no one was looking.  He helped others with his physical hands, helped minister to them, and helped many financially.  Leon was a true Christian loving and serving other just like Christ did.  Those who really knew Leon knew this and will truly miss him.  He was liked by many but respected by all. Leon was a member and Elder of Taylorville Christian Church and was a Social Member of the Taylorville Veteran’s Home (V.F.W.).

Surviving are his wife, Linda Tryon of Morrisonville; Daughter, Kari Skinner and husband Doug of Rochester, Grandchildren, Noah Skinner, Lucas Skinner, and Kassie Skinner, Sister, Grace Himstedt and husband Glenn of Beckley, WV, Brothers, Lynn Tryon of Morrisonville and Lyle Tryon and wife Vicki of Palmer, 2 Nephews, 4 Nieces, 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 3 at Taylorville Christian Church.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Church.  Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery.
