Ethel (Lorenz) Steele,  87, of Taylorville, passed away on May 19, 2014 at 11:46 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She was born on May 23, 1926 in Taylorville, IL;  the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Armstrong) Lorenz. She married  Clifford G. Steele on March 14, 1946 at the Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, IL. She was a homemaker and a member of the Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gordon) Gesell of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Travis Woods (companion Kippy) of Hilton Head, SC and Troy (Sherry) Woods of Taylorville, IL; great grandchildren: Kyle, Tyler, Cole and Alexis; step-grandchildren: Stacie, Katie, and Joshua; sisters: Hattie Adams of Taylorville, IL and Marietta (Jake) Watson of Decatur, IL; sister-in-law: Jean Steele of Palmer, IL; brother-in-law: Biggen (Lenore) Steele of Palmer, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband: Clifford and granddaughter: Trisha Woods.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, IL with Rev. Bill Kerns officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.
