Betty Jo Hamer, 78, of Taylorville, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 3:15 p.m. at her daughters residence. She was born  August 24, 1936 in Decatur, IL. The Daughter of Harold and Mabel (Martin) Anderson. She married Jon R. Ulz on December 18, 1955 in Decatur, IL and he later preceded her on April 1, 1984 and then she married Robert Hamer on December 30, 1992 in Taylorville, IL. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorville.

She is survived by her Husband: Robert Hamer of Taylorville, IL; Son: Jon David Ulz and  Wife Susan Leal of New Orleans, LA; Daughter: Jo Beth (Michael) Zajac of Bloomington, IL; Step-Daughters: Susie (Jim) Montgomery of Taylorville, IL; Sara (Steve) Kirby of Pawnee, IL; Sandy (Scott) Hockman of Mahomet, IL; Grandchildren: Maximilian and Wesley Ulz, Andrew, Alex and Jaxsen Zajac; Step- Grandchildren: Mitchell Hockman, Shaefer Kirby, Spencer Kirby; several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents and first Husband.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becke Lembke officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
