Russell L. Spillman, 83, of Taylorville, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 4:25 p.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylorville. He was born October 28, 1931 in Taylorville, IL. The Son of Oma G. and Marie (Perine) Spillman. He married Marilyn Trost on October 2, 1956 in Taylorville, IL. He retired from maintenance at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL. He was also the owner and operator of Spillman’s Garage in Taylorville. He was a veteran of the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He loved to go fishing, mushroom hunting, tinkering with motors, enjoyed auctions, and he loved his dogs. He was a member of the Taylorville Moose Lodge #1516 and life member of the VFW Post 4495.

He is survived by his Wife: Marilyn; Daughters: Lynell (James) Slaybaugh of Taylorville, IL; Lisa Sexton of Taylorville, IL ; Granddaughter: Cassidy Sexton of Taylorville, IL; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Jay Spillman, Sisters Ruth Hoffman and Dorothy Zini

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
