Elsie I. Holstlaw of Taylorville

Elsie I. Holstlaw, 84, of Taylorville, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 3:28 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born June 16, 1930 in Rural Morrisonville, IL. The Daughter of Fred and Oleva (Oller) Borkhardt. She married Calvin Hendricks and they were later divorced and then she married Leroy Holstlaw and they were also later divorced. She was a Retired cook and legend of Bill’s Toasty Shop for 30 years in Taylorville. Her family and friends are the most important to her and “Mom” to many others. She enjoyed her gambling trips with her best friend Jenny McKinney.


She is survived by her Sons: Calvin Hendricks of Oregon; Carl (Kerry) Holstlaw of Taylorville, IL; Bruce Holstlaw of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Janice Foster of Taylorville, IL; Nancy Adams of Meridosia, IL; Cindy (John) Carnahan of Branson, MO; Brenda  (Tim) Gable of North Little Rock, AR; Carol (Richard) Ennis of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Chad Holstlaw of St. Louis, MO; Macy Holstlaw of Taylorville, IL; Pam Woodall of Tennessee and Travis Adams of Winchester, IL; Becky Durbin of Brownstown, IL; John Dilley of Las Vegas, NV; Jessica Hunt of Mayflower, AR; Dean Hull of North Little Rock, AR; Bill Ennis of Bloomington, IL; Rich and Phil Ennis of Taylorville, IL; Twenty Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-Law: Chris Borkhardt of Moline, IL; Special pets Abby and Jake; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Brother: Louis Borkhardt; three grandchildren Tommy and October Adams; Jason Dilley.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Don Bettis officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
