Katherine Scarlett Coval, 19, of Kincaid, IL passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 5:02 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born August 2, 1995 in Springfield, IL. The Daughter of Rodney and Stephanie (Moreland) Gatton Sr. and Eric and Jennifer Coval. She worked as a cashier at McDonalds in Taylorville, IL. She was an Organ and Tissue Donor, and was also a creative writer. She wrote many poems and short stories.  She also loved Music, children and animals.

She is survived by her Parents: Rodney and Stephanie Gatton Sr. of Kincaid, IL Eric and Jennifer Coval of Mahomet, IL; Brothers: Rodney (Kathryn) Gatton Jr. of Ft. Hood, TX; William Gatton of Kincaid, IL; Gabriel Coval of Mahomet; Sister: Addison Coval of Mahomet, IL; Grandparents: Ron and Saundra Moreland of Taylorville, IL; Clarence and Karen Gatton of Petersburg, IL; Judith Coval of Champaign, IL; Dan and Becky Ray of Springfield, IL; Great-Grandmother: Lorene Brown of Mulberry Grove, IL; Nieces and Nephews: Kendal Turner of Fort Hood, TX; Joel Gatton of Fort Hood, TX; Several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Great-Grandparents: Paul and Mary Moreland; Great-Grandfather: Lloyd L. Brown; Grandmother Anna Mae Hatter; Grandfather: Michael Coval; Brother: Andrew Gatton; Cousin: Mackenzie Moreland

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Randall Garrett officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL.
