Joseph Russell Clark, 84, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:20 am Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Taylorville Care Center.

He was born August 30, 1930 in Mt. Auburn, IL the son of John Harlan and Sophronia Elizabeth Lush Clark. Russell was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, a Navy Veteran of the Korean War era, and retired in 1985 from Caterpillar Company in Decatur. Russell was an avid Cardinal fan and could be seen walking around town proudly displaying his Cardinal jacket.

Surviving is his Sister: Mary Rose Kristian of Taylorville, numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Jo Meier of Nokomis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: James Edward Clark, John William Clark and Washington Harold Clark and Sisters: Teresa McAvoy, Marguerite Price Smith, and Helena Schulte.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 31 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Alan Hunter officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service in the Church on Tuesday. Cremation will follow the Mass and inurnment will take place at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 1 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Fr. Mariadas Chatla officiating.
