Steven Curtis Klay, 57 of Bloomington, IL died at 10:35 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Normal.

He was born February 15, 1958 in Taylorville the son of Lyle C. and Joyce D. Huffines Klay. Mr. Klay was an Administrative Employee, primarily in Parent Services, at Illinois State University in Normal for 17 years. He will be remembered for his love of singing and his deep love of his children. He sang the National Anthem at Basketball games at Redbird Arena in Normal as well as other collegiate events and also sang at the L.A. Clippers games.

Surviving are his Daughter: Emily Klay of Normal; Son: Anderson Klay of Normal; Parents: Lyle and Joyce Klay of Taylorville; Brother: Richard Klay and wife Nancy of Springfield and former wife Shelly Reapsummer Klay of St. Louis, MO.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 6 at McClure Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service in the Funeral Home on Saturday. Steve’s wishes were to be cremated following services. Private burial will take place at a later date in Old Stonington Cemetery.
