James Lyle Young of Taylorville

James Lyle Young, 97, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:38 am Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Meadow Manor Nursing Home, Taylorville

He was born May 4, 1918 at the family homestead near Blue Mound, IL.  On September 18, 1942 he married Dorothy Lucille Allen in Stonington, IL.  She preceded him in death on February 25, 2009 after 66 years of marriage. Mr. Young took over the family farm at the age of 18 and farmed for 45 years.  After retiring he moved to Southern Illinois and realized a dream of his by building a home near the Shawnee National Forrest.  Lyle built the home from the ground up by himself.  After many years in Southern Illinois he moved back to the Blue Mound Area to be near family. Lyle was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville and prior to that was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington.

Lyle and Dorothy had 5 wonderful children: Priscilla Lobb and husband Larry of Hoopeston, Mary Kinnamon and husband Pete of Lakeland, FL, Margaret Dyer and husband Ray of Kalispell, MT, Jim Young of Cottage Hills and Bill Young and wife Mindy of Blue Mound.  There are 12 Grandchildren: Debbie Baker and husband John of Stockton, CA, David Lobb of Phoenix, OR, Michael Kinnamon and wife Jennifer of Lakeland, FL, Theresa Byrd and husband Steve of Lakeland, FL, Brian Kinnamon of Lakeland, FL, Matthew Dyer and wife Jessica of Kalispell, MT, Leslie Doely and husband Josh of Helena, MT, Shilo French of Carson City, NV, Kyle Young and wife Sarah, Alex Young, Luke Young and Ryan France all of Blue Mound.  There are 13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of Service in the Church on Friday.
