Mrs. Lorraine R. Carmichael, 91, of Jeisyville, IL passed away at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at home.

She was born in Jeisyville, IL October 28, 1923 the daughter of Chester and Rosa (Stephens) Basil.  Lorraine married Bernard Joseph Graham March 30, 1940 in St. Charles, MO.  He preceded her in death March 25, 1949.  She later married Gordon Carmichael July 5, 1950 and he preceded her in death May 24, 1978.  

Mrs. Carmichael worked during W.W.II at the ammunitions plant in Illiopolis and then at Meadow Manor in Taylorville during the 1950’s.  She loved spending time with her family, cooking for everyone and all things gardening.  

Surviving are her children John (Cathy) Graham of Amboy, IL Tom (Sherry) Graham of San Mateo, FL Ronny (Lillie) Graham of Grifton, NC Jim (Jennifer) Graham of Taylorville, IL Mary and the late (Jerry) Crosby of Crescent City, FL Cheryl (Michael) Drnjevic of Jeisyville, IL Les Carmichael of Taylorville, IL Del (Roberta) Carmichael of Homosassa Springs, FL Duane (Terry) Carmichael of Taylorville, IL Terry (Sheryl) Carmichael of Taylorville, IL along with 25 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, a son Rudy Bill Carmichael, son in law Jerry Crosby, 4 sisters Dorothy Banfield, Marie Thompson, Helen Clelland, Pearl Gessell, and 4 brothers Chester Basil, Gilbert Basil, Roy Basil and Otis Basil.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid, IL.  Rev Chad Foster will officiate.  Burial will follow in Edinburg Cemetery, Edinburg, IL.  Visitation for Mrs. Carmichael will be held from 6 to 8:00 P.M.
