John M. Walker, 64, of Clarksdale, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 12:55 a.m. at his residence in Clarksdale surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 29, 1951 in Taylorville, IL, the Son of Charles LaRue and Capitola (Landers) Walker. He married Jean Matthews on October 25, 1975 in Reno, Nevada. He was a retired coal mine Manager at several of the area mines. John was an avid sports fan and he coached little league for several years. He took the first 9 and 10 year old Little League all-star team to the championship.

He is survived by his Wife: Jean; Daughter: Lisa Walker of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Todd (Kim) Southard of Springfield, IL; Shea (Linette) Walker of Michigan; Brandon Walker of Orlando, FL; Brett (Juleea) Walker of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Gavin and Garek Walker of Taylorville, IL; McKenna and Carson Southard of Springfield, IL; Ayana, Mya, and S.J. Walker of Michigan; Reagan Walker of Taylorville, IL ; Great-Grandchild: Cambell Walker of Peoria, IL; Sisters: Kay (Dallas) Greene of Nokomis, IL; Lynn (Joe) Brown of Witt, IL; Brothers: Terry Walker of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Chad Foster officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
