Vernon McCoy, 85, of Mt. Auburn, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015  at his residence in Mt. Auburn. He was born April 12, 1930 in Marion, IL, the Son of Marion and Elizabeth McCoy. He married Dorothy May Hooper in 1965 in Decatur, IL and she later preceded him in death on November 27, 2009. He retired as the Owner and operator at McCoy Upholstery. 

He is survived by his Daughter: Leslie Netti of Boca Raton, FL; Step-Sons: Rick Payne of Huntington Beach, CA; Kurt Payne of Miami, FL; Grandchildren: Bridgette Bruitt, Michelle Lawson, David Hawthorne, Lori Nass, Shyler Clayton, David Meyier, Brian Schartzer, Wendy Hovis and Heather Netti; Twelve Great-Grandchildren; One Great-Great-Grandchild; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents and his wife.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Tim Moats officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Mt. Auburn. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
