Lois Jean Beckey, 86, of Edinburg, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 12:45 a.m. at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, IL. She was born September 11, 1929 in Pekin, IL, the Daughter of Webster and Gertrude (Hammond) Bowman. She married R. Eugene Beckey on February 7, 1950 in Springfield, IL and he later preceded her in death on June 27, 2009. She worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company for 34 years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sharpsburg, IL, American Baptist Women, Lioness Club, “Come Share” Volunteer and UCT.

She is survived by her Daughter: Diane (Jim) Ruffner of Warsaw. MO; Son: Douglas Beckey of Edinburg, IL; one Grandchild; Brother: Gale Bowman of Chatham, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL with Pastor Ted Marrinan officiating. Inurnment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
