Esther R. Smith, 97 of Olathe, KS formerly of Stonington, IL passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Royal Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Olathe, KS. She was born on August 26, 1918 in Stonington, IL the Daughter of Lloyd and Grace (Buis) Covington of Stonington. He married Ulysses S. “Sol” Smith on December 30, 1948  and he later preceded her in death on October 18, 1999 in Walnut Creek, CA.  She began her working experience at the Studebaker Dealership in Stonington and she last worked at Boeing in Seattle, WA. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Vallejo, CA.

Surviving are her Nephew, Dale W. & Judy E. Foster of Gardner, KS; Niece, Delores N. (& Don) Miller of Peeples Valley, AZ; and Niece, Esther L. (& Dave) Jeffreys of Benbrook, TX

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Stonington Cemetery in Rural Stonington, IL with Rev. Ed Heppe officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery in Rural Stonington, IL
