Berniece McMillan, 100 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:52 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born on October 1, 1915 in Stonington, IL the Daughter of Lewis and Stella (Foutch) Shanks. She married Jesse McMillan many years ago and he preceded her in death in December of 1973. She worked as a seamstress and a homemaker. Berniece was a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, the order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Medinah #98 of Taylorville and the Royal Neighbors camp 678.

Surviving are her Daughters: Jeanne Shetlar of Apache Junction, AZ; Nancy Chandler of St. George, UT; Kathleen (Richard) Law of Taylorville, IL; Twelve Grandchildren; Several Great and Great-Great Grandchildren; Brother: George Shanks of Texas; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son Tom McMillan, Step-Son: Jesse Marvin McMillan, 7 Brothers and 3 sisters. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Joe and Beverly Bianchi (Grandchildren) officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.
