Josephine “China” McKinney, 93, of Taylorville passed away at 9:45pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Taylorville Care Center.  She was born on April 6, 1923 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dominic and Amalia Dalpoas.  She graduated from Kincaid High School and worked for the Pepsi Cola Company in Springfield.  On May 15, 1943 she married Laverne H McKinney in St. Louis, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on February 11, 1981.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  Josephine loved being with friends and going to dances with them.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her granddaughter: Amy Juhlin (Jeff) of Springfield; grandson: A.J. McKinney (Melinda) of Taylorville; great grandchildren: Abigail, Margaret, and Katherine; daughter-in-laws: Jenny McKinney of Taylorville and Patti McKinney of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons: Donald McKinney and Alan McKinney; siblings: Lucy Chiotti, Louis Dalpoas, Taxi Dalpoas, Margie Chalacoff, Jose Dalpoas, and Katherine Gherardini

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Taylorville with Msgr. David Lantz officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 until 11am at the church.  Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.  Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.  Memories of Josephine, or condolences to the family may be left online at www.mcclurefuneralhome.com
