Seymour “Alice” Burkhart, 91 of Springfield formerly of Stonington passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 2:50 p.m. at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn, IL. She was born on June 7, 1925 in New Bedford, MA the Daughter of Joseph and Maria Silva. She married Robert “Bob” Burkhart on April 8, 1960 in Boston, MA and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1994. She worked as a homemaker.
Surviving are her Daughters: Pam (Vel) Kovacevich of Sherman, IL; Laura Burgo of Los Angeles, CA; Anne Brent of Rockville, MD; Grandchildren: Taylor and Ben Kovacevich of Sherman, IL; Kim (Candida) Burkhart of North Hollywood, CA; Theresa Edmonds, Dominque and Christina Robertson all of Rockville, MD; Eight Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Mae and Brother John.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville with Pastor Tim Moats officiating. Burial will be held in Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington, IL.
