David R. Stroh, 67, of Taylorville passed away at 12:38pm on Monday, September 19, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on February 22, 1949 in Springfield, the son of John E. and Doris (Phares) Stroh. David enjoyed playing guitar and saxophone, and when he was younger traveled to Europe with the American Youth Band. He worked at GSI as a machine operator and in his free time enjoyed golf, fishing, and bowling.

He is survived by his mother: Doris Stroh; daughter: Holly Lomprez; grandchildren: Travis Lomprez and Kimberly Lomprez; great grandson: Treyton Donaldson, all of Taylorville; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 23, 2016 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Becky Lembke officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11am on Friday. Casual dress is requested. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Memorials may be made to Christian County Animal Control or the Taylorville First United Methodist Church. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
