Ruth J. Coleman, 82 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 8:50 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born on January 1, 1934 in Taylorville, IL the Daughter of Walter and Fannie (Nixon) Braughton. She married Lorton Bruce in September of 1953 in Pana, IL and he later preceded her in death in 1996. She worked as a Telephone operator for Illinois Consolidated.

Surviving are her Daughter: Brenda (Mark) Sarver of Herrick, IL; Grandchildren: Cody (Mallory) Coleman, Erin (Ryan) Beaulieu of St. Augustine, FL, Heather Smart of Findlay, IL, Waylon Smart of Chicago, IL; Great Grandchildren: Sebastian and Henry Lincoln Beaulieu of Palm Coast, FL, Alexia Taylor of Findlay, IL, Madalyn Smart of Chicago, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son Michael Coleman, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL
