Gladys E. Tippitt, 84 of Dawson passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 12:39 a.m. at her residence in Dawson. She was born on November 3, 1932 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Walter and Alma (Elders) Prior. She married Donald Tippitt on November 5, 1950 in Taylorville, IL. She worked as a homemaker and she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Taylorville.

Surviving are her Husband: Donald of Taylorville, IL; Son: Daniel (Fiancée Laura) Tippitt of Dawson, IL; Daughter: Linda (Patrick) Regan of North Carolina; Nine Grandchildren; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Margaret Burge of Taylorville, IL; Laverta Tewell of Taylorville, IL; Erma Mills of Taylorville; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter: Diana, Son: Bruce, Brothers: William Prior, Bob Prior, Tom Prior, Wayne Prior, Sisters: Vesta Hendricks, Edna Prior.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Bob Turner officiating. Private immediate family burial will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL.
