Deborah Sue Johnson, 61, of Taylorville, went home to be with the Lord at 6:37 A.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 26, 1955 in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence W. and Bernice L. (Haferkamp) Catron. She married Robert L. Johnson on December 17, 1977 at the Christian Bible Church in Springfield. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of the Buckeye United Methodist Church. She knitting for over 30 years, and enjoyed giving away the projects she created. She loved listening to southern gospel music and enjoyed fishing. She had raised and cared for over 18 pets, and is survived by 5.

She is survived by her husband: Robert Johnson of Taylorville; father: Larry Catron of Springfield; brothers: Gary (Peg) Catron of Phoenix, Arizona, and Donald (Joyce) Catron of Auburn; sister: Lori (Robert) York of Rochester; 1 niece and 2 great nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, and paternal and maternal grandparents.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at McClure Funeral Home with Rev. John Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Buckeye Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 P.M. on Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Buckeye United Methodist Church.
