Max Straughn Siegrist, 90 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 3:17 p.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born on May 3, 1926 in Taylorville, IL the Son of Walter M. and Pauline E. (Straughn) Siegrist. Max was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, Mound Lodge #122 AF & AM Taylorville, IL, VFW Post #4495, American Legion Post 72, Taylorville Senior Citizens and he loved Taylorville Sports. He worked as a bricklayer.

Surviving are his Sister: Sue Siegrist-Wilson of Taylorville, IL; Brothers: John Montrose “Monte” (Lucy) Siegrist of Taylorville, IL; Nephews: Mark, Jay, Scott and Kirk Siegrist; Michael Wilson, Paul John Wilson; Nieces: Julie Siegrist, Michelle (David) Speagle, Paula (Kevin) Lee, Jeannie Masters; Several Great-Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was precede in death by his Parents, Sister: Ellen Siegrist, Brother Malcom Siegrist, Nephew John Lyndon Siegrist. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10:00-12:00 noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 12:00 noon at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Bob Cook officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL with military graveside honors.
