James E. Nation, 85 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 9:17 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on October 15, 1931 in Mt. Auburn Township, the Son of William Isaac and Cora Helen (Ashinhurst) Nation. His first marriage was to Lola Chamness and they were later divorced. He then married Wilma Brunk they also were later divorced. On October 13,1999 he married Kay Parks. He worked as a Farmer and an auto parts salesman. He served in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic and received many medals. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville, Taylorville VFW Post #4495.

Surviving are his Wife: Kay Nation, Sons: Troy Nation of Stonington, and Ty Nation of Taylorville Daughters: Teresa (Bill) Zuro of Ballwin, MO, Grandchildren: Nicholas Buzzard of Ballwin, MO, Emily Nation of Taylorville, IL, Seth Buzzard of Mt. Auburn, IL, Brothers: Granvel “Spud” (Doris) Nation of Taylorville, IL, Roscoe Paul (Jackie) Nation of Taylorville, Kenneth Franklin (Juanita) Nation of Taylorville, IL, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: Ira Nation, Ernie Nation, Jack Nation, Everett Nation, Robert Nation, Ivan Nation, Earl Nation, Sisters: Florien Bailey, and Uldien White

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will be held on Friday March 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Burial will be held in Glenhaven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL with military graveside honors.
