James M. Messmore, 64, of Irving, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 9:07 a.m. at his residence in rural Irving. He was born on July 5, 1952 in Decatur, IL the Son of John and Dora (Keown) Messmore. He married Yvonne Joyce on March 24, 1973 in Witt, IL and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2016. He worked as a mechanic and Truck driver for K & K Coating and he was later the Owner and Operator of James and James Trucking and Sooner Sun Tanning.

He is survived by his Son: James Henry Messmore of Witt, IL; Daughters: Michelle Fegler and Companion Chad King of Nokomis, IL; Lucy Messmore of Nokomis, IL; Grandchildren: Jamie Fegler of Lyman, Nebraska; Christopher and Cody Norine of Nokomis, IL; Brothers: Lynn (Debbie) Messmore of Tenneessee; Darrel Messmore of Gibson City, IL; Dennis Messmore of Sibley, IL; Sisters: Patsy (Roger) Croy of Mattoon, IL; Teresa Winget of Texas; Dianne Messmore of Texas; Chris Blair of Montana; Rita Messmore of Montana; Carol More of Kentucky; Toni (Mike) Steele of Sibley, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and Sister-in- Law: Delores Golitko.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Witt, IL.
