Mary Jo Robinson, 64 of Taylorville, passed away at 10:48 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on August 3, 1952, the daughter of Clarence “Joe” and Mary (McAvoy) Emerson. On February 13, 1981 she married Morris Robinson in Stonington. Mary Jo retired after 25 years with Walmart as a Department Manager. She was a member of Moose Lodge #1516 and the Women of the Moose. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing piano and cards and was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed supporting her children in all the sporting events they played in. Mary Jo adored her grandkids and loved all the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her husband: Morris Robinson of Taylorville; children: Kristi Luttrell (David) of Edinburg, Mark Robinson (Christine) of Naperville, Kim Timmons (Jason) of Bloomington, and Doug Robinson (Brandy) of Temple, Texas; grandchildren: Cortez Luttrell, Matthew Luttrell, Payton Robinson, Cameron Robinson, Avery Timmons, Austin Timmons, Alaina Timmons, and Dax Robinson; brothers: Robert Emerson (Anita) of Loves Park, and Pat Emerson (Chris) of Erie, Colorado; and uncle: John McAvoy of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Ann Hodges and Jan Jolly.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Msgr. David Lantz officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks.
