Elmer Ray Beaty, 80 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 8:06 p.m. at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville. He was born on January 13, 1937 in Christian County, IL the Son of Glen E. and Beulah V. (Woods) Beaty. He married Sheryl Hill in Palmer, IL and they later divorced. He then Married Rochelle “Shelly” Elston Black on December 24, 1986 in Saginaw, MI. Elmer worked as a Carpenter for Local 334 in Saginaw, MI and then later maintenance for Design Corrugating in Taylorville, IL.

Surviving are his Wife: Rochelle “Shelly” of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Rodney Ray Beaty of Litchfield, IL; Kyle Woodson Beaty of Joliet, IL; Robert Black of Decatur, IL; Timothy A. Black of Taylorville, IL, Glenn A. Black of Taylorville, IL, Daughter: Melissa Hill of Taylorville Grandchildren: Elizabeth Louise Taylor of Litchfield, IL; Jeannine Nicole Beaty of Taylorville, IL; Trista Marie Norris of Mt. Auburn, IL, Holly Ann Black, Sarah June Black; Great Grandchildren: Cassandra Renee Taylor of Litchfield, IL; Nicholas Drake Taylor of Litchfield, IL; Arianna Willow Norris of Mt. Auburn, IL; Skyler Mae Taylor of Litchfield, IL; Sister: Aleta L. Kettelkamp of Nokomis, IL; Letha (Andy) Buchson of Kincaid, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son: Jim Black; Brother Wayne Beaty and Brother-in-Law: Kenneth Kettelkamp.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will follow the visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Ted Marrinan officiating. Burial will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL.
