Patsy Dyer, 76 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 12:14 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. She was born on January 29, 1941 in Benton, IL the Daughter of Robert N. and Ruby L. (Wilkerson) Gibbs. She married Glen Dyer on October 6, 1962 in Springfield, IL and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2013. She was a member of Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Taylorville and Tabernacle of Praise Church in Taylorville. Patsy loved going to church, reading her Bible and being on the go. She also enjoyed her time spent at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center in Taylorville. Doing the work of the Lord was very important to Patsy and she spent a lot of time at the local nursing homes reading the Bible to the residents.

Surviving are her Son: Jeff Dyer of Taylorville, IL. She was preceded in death by her Parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Taylorville with Pastor Eric Stillwell and Pastor Russell Beard officiating. Inurnment will be held in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, IL at a later date.
