Martha Alice Hays, 79 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 10:40 p.m. at her residence in Taylorville. She was born on July 25, 1938 in Pana, IL the daughter of Verne and Pauline (Enlow) Weekly. He married Edward Earl Hays on July 25, 1959 in Tower Hill, IL. Martha worked for the Taylorville School District and was a member of the Taylorville Christian Church.

Surviving are her Husband: Edward Hays of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Brian (Rita) Hays of Cayuga, IN; Mark (Deb) Hays of Hume, IL; Jimmy (Sarah) Hays of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Grant, Brian Michael, Brittany, Breanna, Brady, Jodie, Mindy, Paul, Whitney, Hillary, Amber, Eriq, Aleah, Alex, Alexis and Andrew; sixteen Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Debbie (David) Pope of Tower Hill, IL; Elsie (Jerry) Hall of Tower Hill, IL; Brothers: Wesley (Kathy) Weekly of Tower Hill, IL; Ronald Patient of Dixon, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sons: Edward Earl Hays and Laurence Dean Hays; grandson: James Hays Jr., Great Granddaughter: Brynslee Edwards and Sister: Ginny Benett.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor James Jones officiating. Burial will be held in Tower Hill Cemetery in Tower Hill, IL.
