Velma June Neal, 97, of Taylorville passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 in Taylorville. She was born on July 2, 1920 in Benton, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Phillips) Darnell On May 14, 1939 she married Eugene L. Neal in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2004. June worked for many years as an office manager for Bob Ridings in Taylorville.

She is survived by her son: Joseph Neal, wife Tina, of Taylorville as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Neal will be cremated, and the family will host a celebration of life at a later date. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is handling arrangements.
