Steven Ramey, 71 of Valier, IL formerly of Taylorville, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 4:55 p.m. at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born on July 31, 1946 in Litchfield, IL the son of Harold and Helen (Clarkson) Ramey. He married Mary Dunkirk on June 20, 1964. He worked in Maintenance for Caterpillar in Decatur where he retired after 30 years.

Surviving are his Wife: Mary of Valier, IL; Sons: Phillip (Angela) Ramey of Fenton, MO; John (Brenda) Ramey of Hannibal, MO; Daughters: Tammy (Jocko) Brachear of Taylorville, IL; Sheila (Jeff) Cowell of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Adam Brachear of Blue Mound, IL, Randi Brachear of Moweaqua, IL, Amber (Zac) Durbin, Steven Kious, Megan Kious, Morgan Kious, Tyler Cowell, and Emilee Cowell all of Taylorville, IL; Taylor Ramey of Hannibal, MO; Cody Williams of Hannibal, MO; Cory Williams of Springfield, MO; Travis Williams of Hannibal, MO; Joe Bright of Fenton, MO; Great-Grandchildren: Brylan Fortner of Moweaqua, IL; JayLyn and AuBree Durbin of Taylorville, IL; Laila Kious of Morrisonville, IL; Elyse Williams of Springfield, MO; Mother: Helen Ramey- Messerle of Christopher, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Father, Brother: Richard Ramey, Sister: Kathryn Sue Ramey and Step-Father: Virgil Messerle.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #73 in Taylorville. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
