Telles Jay LaLonde, 82 of Nokomis passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 9:13 pm.  He was born on December 19, 1935, in Chicago, IL the son of Kari (Syrtand) and Telles Joseph LaLonde.  He married Janet Williams on January 9, 1976 in Manteno, IL.  Jay lived a very full life of travel as a Sergeant with the Army 34th Infantry in the Korean War 1954-1956 and as a Merchant Marine on the Ore Boats in the Great Lakes. With music as an accomplished left handed Accordion player, who spent many years with the Swing Kings of Kankakee.  And his talent for delivering the perfect joke, he is loved and will be greatly missed.

 

Surviving is his partner Connie Rowcliff of Tower Hill, Daughters: Kimberly Stanberry of Nokomis, IL, Karen and Michael Vancura of Worth, IL, Son: Telles Jean LaLonde of Nokomis, IL.  Grandchildren: Kevin, Kristina and Kara Kay Gibbs of Nokomis, IL, Austin and Katie LaLonde of Mattoon, IL and Ashjin LaLonde of Worth, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Janet LaLonde, Son-in-Law Jim Stanberry and Sister/Brother in Law Shirley and Larry Menin.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL with reception at Mia Azteca Restaurant 100 S. Pine St. Nokomis, IL following the visitation.
