Doris J. Buck, 77, of Taylorville, IL passed away at 11:31 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Doris was born December 23, 1940 in Witt, IL, the daughter of Jesse O. and A. Pauline (Kessler) Oller.  She married Thomas L. Buck on November 1, 1975 in Waukegan, IL.  He preceded her in death on January 28, 2005.

Doris worked for over 25 years for Sara Lee in Deerfield, before moving back to the Taylorville area.  She received her CNA certification, and spent many years as an in-home healthcare aid for Addias Healthcare.  Doris was a long-time member of Taylorville Christian Church, where she was member of their hospitality group.  She was recently involved with the Respiratory Therapy Club at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.  Doris enjoyed sewing, crocheting, scrap booking, and flower gardening.  Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara R. Merrick; brothers, Keith, Earl, Butch, and Chuck Oller; sisters, Joyce Dees, Donna Travelsted, and Juanita Lawrence; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Nylene (fiancé, Steve Kuhn) Wilson of Avon, IN, and Diane (husband, Scott) Smith of Eastland, TX; grandchildren, Brian Wilson of Taylorville, IL, Nicole Wilson of Indianapolis, IN, Jessica (husband, Josh) Williams of Taylorville, IL, Billy Merrick of Taylorville, IL, Jenny Merrick of Fargo, ND, Chase Smith of Marengo, IL, and Kalyn Smith of Eastland, TX; great grandchildren, Nathan, Nygel, Heather, Isaias, Destiny, Jocelyn, Noah, Drew, and Hunter; sisters, Barbara McKinnon and Linda (husband, Bill) Moma, both of Taylorville, IL; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin St., Taylorville, IL 62568.

Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Taylorville Christian Church, 1124 N. Webster St., Taylorville, IL 62568 with Rev. Dick Wamsley officiating.

Interment will follow the ceremony at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.
