Jeanne F. Boerio

Jeanne F. Boerio, 85 of Taylorville passed away at 9:57p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Taylorville Care Center. She was born on November 12, 1932 in Taylorville, the daughter of Michael T. and Rita L. (Falk) Trojcak. Jeanne attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Taylorville Township High School in 1950. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the CD of A. Jeanie worked many jobs throughout her life including at Myers Brothers in Springfield, various stores around the square in Taylorville, Sangamon Card Company, Georgia Pacific, Caterpillar, waitressed at many restaurants, and many years as a housekeeper. She has also been a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority for 20 years, was a member of the Women of the Moose, and volunteered at the Christian County Historical Society, and with the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active volunteer for the Illinois Heart Association for over 20 years where she previously served as a County and City Chairman and organized many special events. When her boys were younger, she spent several years as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Jeanne enjoyed dancing, skating, reading, needle work, and word puzzles.

 

Jeanne is survived by her sister: Doris Trojcak of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter-in-law: Gloria Boerio of Castle Rock, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Mark Boerio and Joseph Boerio, and on April 4, 2018 her brother: Fr. Ronald Trojcak.

 

A memorial mass for Jeanne will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Visitation will be from 10 until 11a.m. on Saturday in the church. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

 

Memorials may be made to the Christian County Historical Society, Taylorville Public Library, or St. Mary’s School.
