Shirley Dunkirk, 78 of Taylorville passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. at her home in Taylorville, IL. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Chester and Zelma (Peacher) Basil. She married Donald Dunkirk on February 16m 1957 in Kincaid, IL.

She is survived by her Husband of 61 years Donald Dunkirk of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Mike (Renee) Dunkirk of Edinburg, IL; Jim (Terra) Dunkirk of Springfield, IL; Daughters: Debbie (Leonard) Gesell of Taylorville, IL; Lori Lederbrand of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Leanne (Todd) Unger of Altoona, IA; Brandon (Brittani) Dunkirk of Troy, IL; Cody Dunkrik of Pontoon Beach, IL; Larry and Fiancé PJ Dunkirk of Niantic, IL; Jessica (David) Durbin of Hinesville, Ga; Matthew Dunkirk of Edinburg, IL; Justin (Jen) Dunkirk of Williamsville, IL; Kami (Bralynn) Benning of Springfield, IL; Austin Dunkirk of Springfield, IL; Kailey (Teresa) Correa of Carpentersville, IL; Allison Lederbrand of Taylorville, IL; Gracie Lederbrand of Taylorville, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Marissa Dunkirk of Niantic, IL; Olivia Unger of Altoona, IA; Brother: Ronnie (MaryAnn) Basil of Decatur, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son: Donald E Dunkirk, Brothers: Darrell Basil, Robert Basil, Bill Basil and Charles Basil.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Burial will be held in Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville, IL.
